Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-23

This document is a working draft published ahead of public launch and full business registration. It is provided in good faith and may be updated.

These Terms govern your use of Rooteq (the “Service”), available at https://rooteq.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them.

1. Who we are

The Service is provided by Rooteq, operated by an individual based in Latvia (business registration pending). You can reach us at rooteq.info@gmail.com.

2. What Rooteq does

Rooteq is an informational tool. Given a location and a log specification, it ranks timber selling points by estimated net revenue per cubic metre (the price published by a buyer, minus an estimate of road-transport cost) and shows indicative routes on a map.

Rooteq is not a marketplace, broker, or buyer. We do not purchase timber, sell timber, handle transactions between you and buyers, or guarantee that any buyer will purchase from you or honour a listed price.

3. Pricing data and no guarantee of accuracy

Prices shown are sourced from third-party companies’ public price lists and other references. They may be outdated, incomplete, mis-stated, or subject to conditions (grade, volume, season, location) that Rooteq cannot fully capture. Transport costs are estimates based on configurable rates and road-distance calculations, not quotes.

Always confirm the current price, terms, and acceptance directly with the buyer before harvesting, transporting, or delivering timber. Rooteq’s rankings are decision support, not financial, commercial, or professional advice, and you act on them at your own risk.

4. Accounts

You need an account to use the Service. Authentication is handled by our provider (Clerk). You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old.

5. Plans, billing and renewals

  • Rooteq offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers. Current prices and included limits are shown on the pricing page and in-app.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis through our payment processor (Stripe) and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • You can cancel anytime from the billing portal; cancellation, refunds and the consumer right of withdrawal are described in our Refunds & Cancellation policy.
  • Plans carry monthly usage limits (and a fair-use cap on the unlimited tier) to keep the Service sustainable. We may contact you before restricting genuinely excessive use.

6. Promotional codes

Promo codes may grant temporary access to paid features for a limited time. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, are limited to one per account, and may be withdrawn or expire. We may disable a code at any time.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape, bulk-export, resell, or redistribute the pricing data or any part of the Service;
  • attempt to bypass usage limits, access controls, or paywalls;
  • disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service; or
  • use the Service unlawfully or to infringe others’ rights.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, software, and compiled data sets are owned by the operator or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own timber-selling decisions. Map data, forestry layers, and company price lists remain the property of their respective owners.

9. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including as to accuracy of prices, routes, or estimates. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost revenue, lost profit, or commercial decisions made in reliance on the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer rights.

10. Changes and termination

We may update the Service or these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date and, where appropriate, notified in-app. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Latvia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Latvia.
